T-Mobile USA is soon to launch a new phone being powered by Google’s Android operating system. The set, to be called as “myTouch 3G” has been developed by HTC and follows the previous mobile set G1. It will hit the U.S. market in this summer and will be second in league to the Android-based phone. According to the Google executives, as many as 18 Android phones for various manufacturers are slated to be launched in the market in the current year.
T-Mobile has been talking about the second in the Android based product series past sometime and according to the spokesman of the leading wireless carrier, more detailed disclosures will be made public by the company very soon. However, the Google spokesman refrained from hinting anything about the same but said that they were very pleased to see more and more Android-powered device coming to the market.
The mytouch 3G follows the design of HTC Magic which has Android as the operating system and which is being sold by the carrier, Vodafone. The set has touch screen and doesn’t have any physical keyboard just like Apple’s iPhone. However, it is smaller in size as compared to the iPhone and is round at corners along with alluring glossy looks. The absence of keyboard makes it sleeker than the G1, while the navigation buttons and trackballs of the new set is placed at the bottom of the phone, a place same as that of G1 and it is slightly curved so that thumbs can rest easily on it.
The embedded softwares are familiar ones with some improvements. It seems that summer this time will be hot for smart phone markets as myTouch 3g is slated to competes with AT&T new iPhone model, Sprint’s Palm Pre and BlackBerry Tour smart phones.
